Submission Guideline For Authors

AROC journals accept original research manuscripts provided that the work reports scientifically sound experiments and provides a substantial amount of new information. The quality and impact of the study will be considered during peer review. In addition, we accept Reviews papers that provide latest progress and development in any given area of research either long comprehensive reviews or short reviews on specific topics. Reviews should provide a complete and balanced overview on the latest progress in any given area of research. We appreciate you for your interest in our journal, kindly read through our submission guidelines and be sure that they are in line with your paper, afterwards you can go ahead and submit your article.

(1) COVER LETTER

A cover letter must be included with each manuscript submission and must be addressed to the Editor. It should explain the significance of the article, and why it fits the scope of the journal category. Authors must also confirm that neither the manuscript nor any parts of its content are currently under consideration or published in another journal. The names of proposed and excluded reviewers should be provided in the cover letter.

(2) AUTHORSHIP

Names and affiliations: In the main paper the author’s name(s) and affiliation(s): Including first name, middle initial, last name, and highest academic degree of each author, the names of their departments and institutions (including city and state) to which the work should be attributed, and E-mail addresses must be included in the first page. 

Corresponding author(s): One or more authors should take responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole, from inception to published article and may serve as Corresponding author(s), they must include the name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address also in the front page of the article.

Contributions of each author to the article: The contribution of each author to the articles should be described accordingly following this format: concept, design, definition of intellectual content, literature search, clinical studies, experimental studies, data acquisition, software, writing, supervision, funding acquisition, data analysis, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, manuscript editing and manuscript review.

Conflicts of Interest/ Competing Interests: All authors of must disclose all conflicts of interest they may have with publication of the manuscript or an institution or product that is mentioned in the manuscript. 

(3) FUNDING

All sources of funding for the study should be disclosed. Funding such as grants that were received to support the research work and/or funds to cover publication costs. Funding information can be entered manuscript before reference section. If no funding was received kindly add: “This research received no external funding” 

(4) GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT: 

AROC encourages authors to submit a graphical abstract (GA) alongside the text abstract in their manuscript. The graphical abstract must represent the topic of the article, must be original and unpublished artwork. Graphical Abstract should be a high-quality illustration or diagram in any of the following formats: PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or SVG with 560 × 1100 pixels (height × width). 

(5) PUBLICATION CHARGES

AROC journal has no submission fees, page charges, editorial processing charges and color charges for all submitted article in any of our journal categories. The Article processing fee is $40 for all submitted articles to any of our journal categories. The APC becomes payable only upon acceptance of a manuscript

(6) MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

  1. Title: should be concise and informative, specific to the work presented (maximum 120 characters including spaces).
  2. Authors’ names and affiliations: list the full names (first name, family name), postal

address for each affiliation (university/organization, city, postal code, no., street, country), and valid e-mail address for the corresponding author.

  1. Abstract: Maximum of 300 words, without citations, all abbreviations must be fully defined
  2. Keywords: A maximum of 5 appropriate keywords for indexing.
  3. Introduction: This section should provide a brief background, avoiding a detailed review of literature, with appropriate references.
  4. Materials and methods: The materials, methods, and the design of the experiments should be presented clearly, providing sufficient details to permit the work to be reproduced.
  5. Results and discussions: should be presented in a clear and concise way, discussing the correlation with existing research. The results and discussion can be combined or separated. The authors may use text, tables, figures, photographs, and graphs to present their results.
  6. Conclusions: The main conclusions should be stated presenting the relevance of the study.
  7. Acknowledgments: This section should present sources of supporting funding of the work and list those who contributed or helped during the research (analysis, data interpretation, language, writing, etc.)
  8. References: Please use numbering system [1, 2] to format your reference and ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).

(7) SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS 

Supplementary materials should be sent to the managing editor at admin@arocjournal.com, In the subject line of the email, authors should write Supplementary materials and the title of the article. Supplementary materials can include figures, tables, videos, spreadsheets, and it must indicate the name and title of each element as follows Figure S1: title, Table S1: title, etc in the article.

 (8) MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

You can submit your manuscript/paper to any of our journals via email attachment to the editor: admin@arocjournal.com or via online manuscript submission system at: https://arocjournal.com/onlinesubmission/

(9) PEER REVIEW PROCESS

A manuscript ID will be emailed to the Corresponding Author within 24-hr (Monday-Friday) or 72hrs (Weekends). The manuscript will be review strictly by at least 2 Academician/Researchers from an accredited academic or research institution in Africa. The review will take 3-4 weeks; after which we will provide detailed reviewer’s comments to the author. The author (s) is expected to revise the manuscript and respond to all reviewer’s comments within 2-4 weeks depending on the reviewer’s decision (Minor or Major Revision). 

(10) PROOF CORRECTION AND PUBLICATION

Corresponding authors will receive a PDF version of the galley proof within 2 days of acceptance. To ensure a fast publication process of the article, we kindly ask authors to provide us with their proof corrections within 2 working days (48 hr). All authors must agree to the final version. The manuscript will be published within 7 days of acceptance.

(11) PUBLICATION ETHICS STATEMENT

In AROC journal, we are dedicated to our work and we publish article that has passed through rigorous peer-review process, ethical policies and standards. We have zero tolerance to publishing ethics issues such as plagiarism, data and image manipulation, authorship credit misuse when it comes to scholarly publication. We kindly advise authors to present their research findings in a logical manner bringing out the most significance of their findings. Research findings submitted to AROC journal must be reproducible, authors should provide sufficient data and detailed methods used in the research with adequate references. Authors should be ready to provide raw data of their research upon request. They should also publish a whole work at once and not bit. We only accept submission of manuscripts to one journal categories of our journals at a time. We take publication misconduct as a serious offence and we may contact appropriate individuals and take solid actions if we found out any publication misconduct

(12) RESEARCH ETHICS

Authors submitting a research work that involves human being subjects, tissues and/or data should follow and declare the rules authors must declare that the investigations were carried out following the rules of the Declaration of Helsinki of 1975 (https://www.wma.net/what-we-do/medical-ethics/declaration-of-helsinki/) in their article prior to submission and provide an approval from an ethics committee obtained before undertaking the research while submitting their article.

For research involving humans and patients, AROC accepts a written informed consent from participating patients before article can be publish. Authors can reach out to the editors for further details  

The editors will require that author should conduct their experimental work in accordance with relevant national legislation on the use of animals for research and submit details of approval by a properly constituted research ethics committee with their manuscript submission. Briefly, the approval must contain the following project code/number, date of approval and name of the ethics committee or institutional review board.

For research work involving cell lines, the origin of the cell lines must be stated in the manuscript with references either from a published paper or commercial source. If the cell lines were gifted from another laboratory, details of institutional review board or ethics committee approval must be given, and confirmation of written informed consent must be provided if the cell line is of human being origin.

For research work on plants, collection of plant material, must comply with institutional, national, or international guidelines. We recommend that author provide voucher specimens number to ascertain the plant material used. They should also provide genetic information and origin of the plant material. They should include details such as location of collection with GPS coordinates, date of collection. All these should be included in their manuscript prior to submission. AROC Editors have the full rights to reject any manuscript submission that does not meet these requirements.

We kindly encourage authors who want to submit research work based on clinical trials to pre-register clinical trials with an international clinical trial register and cite a reference to the registration in the abstract and methods section of their manuscript before submitting to any of our journal categories. AROC Editors have the full rights to reject any manuscript submission that does not pre-register clinical trials.

(13) COPYRIGHT

AROC journal normally assign copyright to our journal during publication, in order to protect original material, and stop other people from using the published work without author permission.
